Benefits of Green gas
Why produce green gas?
It creates climate-friendly gas that can be passed directly into the gas grid and used by industry, households and heavy transportation. At the same time, it solves a problem of waste and manure excess. It’s a great example of circular economy.
Greener agriculture
Provide a game changing manure management solution for local farmers by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and the overall carbon footprint, helps our farmers.
Energy transition
Building facilities for biogas production can be done today and speeds up the energy transition in the short-term, whilst creating energy security for the longer term.
Green gas can be produced continuously and is a reliable source of energy.
The regional cycle
By converting organic waste into energy and return digestate to agriculture as fertilizer for tomorrows food production, we strengthen the regional cycle of energy and food. Where possible we collaborate with local (agricultural) entrepreneurs.
The ambition of the Climate Agreement is to produce 2 billion m3 of green gas in the Netherlands by 2030. As Nature Energy we want to contribute to this ambition.

Agricultural entrepreneurs are at the heart of our business model
Nature Energy plants are based on a win-win exchange model that has many important benefits for agricultural entrepreneurs:
- Strengthens the sustainability of local agriculture.
-
Contributes to the agri-environment (nutrient recycling).
- Decreases of the carbon footprint of farms.
- Recovery of manure and slurry.
- Production of an enriched digestate that is returned to the farms and can be spread more easily.
- Washing of trucks between each agricultural production visit to optimize biosecurity.
- Cost reduction for agricultural entrepreneurs (manure mangement, less purchase of fertilizers).
