Groen Gas Almere
Nature Energy acquired Groen Gas Almere (GGA) in 2022 and is the current owner of this facility. This installation can produce up to 4 million Nm³ of green gas per year and injects it directly into the local gas network. The installation differs from Nature Energy’s standard design and is smaller than the existing digesters in Denmark.
Location: Hameiweg 5, Almere
Creation of 6 permanent jobs and various contractors for maintenance
Feedstock: 50% manure, 50% agri-food waste (co-products)

Volume Green gas produced:
4 Mm3 annually
CO2 liquefier on-site, allowing utilization of the byproduct CO2
Update GGA
October 15th, 2024
Nature Energy has taken the decision to temporarily halt the existing production of Green Gas Almere (GGA). The decision to temporarily stop the operation is based on the disappointing market conditions, such as the certificate price and the digestate price, for the production of green gas. This means that the installation will be shut down at the end of 2024. Production is turned off in a controlled manner and, depending on market conditions, can be restarted. In the coming period, Nature Energy will explore the possibilities of restarting production.
